My First Birch Box of June 2015

birchbox, subscription box, style me pretty, wedding,

birch box, subscription box, makeup, beauty box, health box, skin care, laura geller, karatase, la fresh,

In the box was included:

-Keratase Elixir Ultimate ($15)
-Laura Geller Blush ($13)
-LA Fresh Makeup Remover ($0)
-Marcelle BB Cream Golden Glow ($0)
-Vasanti Cosmetics Face Rejuvenator ($5)
- Bonus: Deepa Gurani Hair Tie ($10)

Average Total Price of the box is around $43, which is a good price compared to the $10 that I paid for the box. They sent a pretty good valued box with really good products that I have been wanting to try on my hair and skin.

Before making this purchase, I was unsure about whether or not to re-subscribe to Ipsy or to try something new. I chose the latter because I did not want a lot of makeup products since I had already been supplied with similar products during the time that I was subscribed to Ipsy. This time I wanted beauty products that would help my skin and hair feel and look better, so I opted for my second option.

Birch Box did not fail me in sending me products that I needed and I think that part of it is because of the quiz that subscribers are required to complete about their beauty preferences, before signing up to their box. I think I will try another month and see how it goes.

I have learned that the major difference between Ipsy and Birchbox is that Birchbox sends beauty products (creams, exfoliants, masks, etc.) while Ipsy specifically sends makeup products only (lipsticks, blushes, foundation, makeup brushes, etc.) And because of this, I will be sticking with Birch Box for another month and leaving Ipsy behind for a while until I empty my makeup products, or until I feel like I want to experiment with new products.

If you have any suggestions, comments, or questions, please feel free to comment down below. I would be happy to answer to them.

February 2015 Ipsy Subscription Box Review

Ipsy is a monthly makeup and beauty subscription box for $10. It sends you 4 to 5 products, both full and sample size, personalized depending on your preferences.

This month, I got six products because I accumulated enough points to get an extra freebie, which was the pink bottle or the "mane tamer" cream. I was really surprised by what I got this month because I really liked everything and I thought that everything was quite on point with what I personally prefer using and experimenting with.

ipsy, subscription box, makeup, hair cream, eye lash curler, lip stain, face oil, blush, mayugirl,

1) Eva NYC Volumizing Spray (1 oz) $3

I used this spray before straigtening my hair and it definitely helped my hair stay moiturized and volumize my hair. I really noticed the difference because my hair is very thin and when I straigten it, it looses al of the little volume it has, but this time it preserved it and helped my hair look better.

2) Mitchell and Peach Fine Radiance Face Oil (10 ml) $22

3) Emite Professional Eye Curler $25

I have to say that I am a little disappointed with this one because it came a little unaligned, but fortunately I was able to bend it enough to straighten the curler. We actually received an email from Ipsy asking if we had received an unaligned curler so that it could be replaced.

So my assumption is that this curler is usually not that great since it bends easily, which could also mean hat it breaks easily too. I wouldn't recommend this curler because of that and because it is pricey.

4) City Color Cosmetics Creamy Lip Stain $5

When I first saw this, I thought that I would hate it as much as I hate wearing lip glosses, but I was wrong. This lip stain is not as sticky as lip glosses. It starts out sticky but eventually dries to a beautiful pink lip stain.

5) BLUSH Cheek Powder Sample

6) FREE Eva NYC Hair Tamer (100 ml) $8

I got this additional product for free because I accumulated enough point to redeem a reward of my choice and I chose this hair cream for 500 points. I was able to get these points through reviews and other tasks on Ipsy.

Glam Bag Value : $63

January 2015 Ipsy Makeup Subscription Box

ipsy, subcription, box, makeup, eyehadow, nourih, organic, elizabeth mott

1. Nourish Organic Renewing Eye Cream Sample

I have been using this product and all I can say is that it does not irritate my eyes like other facial moisturizers. There is  no re freshening feeling but it does moisturize. It also does not have a strong scent and it does not feel heavy. I would recommend it to people with sensitive skin because it is light enough and does not include harsh chemicals for the skin around your eyes.

2. All Over Shadow Brush ($9.99)

I love this brush because of the color and because of how soft it is. I would really recommend it if you like to apply your eyes shadow with a brush. I can't believe I finally got a make up tool!

3. Malin + Goetz Mojito Lip Balm ($12)

I love this lip balm because it is really easy to apply and very moisturizing. The tip is shaped like a lip gloss applicator and the balm itself is transparent but  has a thick texture almost like a lip gloss.

4. Bella Pierre Shimmer Powder ($14.99)

Since I am not into loose powder eye shadows, I can't say that I love it. But looking at the price of it, satisfies me enough to feel that it was worth my $10 for Ipsy this month.

5. Pacifica Natural Mineral Coconut Powder Sample

This is the product that everyone got in their Ipsy bag. Again, I do not have much to say because I have not used it and am not really attracted to using it.

Overall:

I think that this month's bag was really good because it was worth $36.98 (it costs $10 to subscribe!), and because I loved that they included a make up tool for the first time in my bag and because I really liked the lip balm and the eye moisturizer. I can't really complain about the bag itself either because it is really versatile and I love the colors of it!

November 2014 Ipsy Subscription Box Review

Ipsy is a makeup monthly subscription bag for $10. Every month Ipsy sends its subscribers a small makeup bag along with four to five full and sample products that match your preferences. These preferences are different for every person, since you have to complete a survey at the beginning of the process to personalize your Ipsy bags. For example you can choose to mark as favorites eye shadows and facial masks, while leaving off lipsticks and mascaras. Of course this does not mean that you will never get these products, but instead  Ipsy will try to provide you with the product you prefer and sometimes introduce you to products that you thought you would never like, but end up liking (like me).

Also after sending their monthly bags, Ipsy provides their subscribers with special discount coupons for the products of the month!

2. Elizabeth Mott you're so FINE Eyeliner (0.1 oz.; $17.99)

3. L.A. Colors Chunky Lip Pencil (0.095 oz.; $3.50)

4. Nicole by O.P.I. Nail Polish (0.5 fl. oz.; $5.99)

5. TEMPTU S/B Highlighter (0.1 fl. oz.; $0)

Total Cost: $27.48

I really liked everything in this month's Ipsy. Especially the eyeliner because I was in need of one! And I really liked the smell of the roll on oil perfume, it was definitely a great first experience using this type of perfume. The highlighter and the nail polish are obviously really good, and last but not least, the lip pencil was just okay.

Oct. 2014 Ipsy Subscription Box Review

ipsy, subscription box, makeup, make up, eye lashes, lashes, lip gloss, exfoliant, michelle phan, makeup guru, eye shadowIpsy is a $10 monthly subscription bag that sends its subscribers a small makeup bag along with four to five full and sample products that match their preferences. These preferences are defined by the completiom of a survey at the beginning of sign up at Ipsy.com. For example you can choose to mark as favorites eye shadows and facial masks, while leaving off lipsticks and mascaras. Of course this does not mean that you will never get these products, but instead  Ipsy will try to provide you with the product you prefer and sometimes introduce you to products that you thought you would never like, but may end up liking.

So these are the product that I got this month:

patagonia, polish

 Patagonia Body Butter Sample.

This body butter smells really good. It's not strongly scented, but it has a relaxing smell that I personally like. It is really moisturizing and smooth. I would definitely consider purchasing when after I run out of it.

epice, exfoliant, ipsy
Purifying Exfoliant Sample

I am not really excited about this because my face is really delicate and every time I try to do something on it, I just break out, but I may try it some time to see how my skin reacts to it.  mica, beauty, cosmetics, eye shadow, ipsy
Mica Beauty Cosmetics Eye Sadow

I was not really excited about this eye shadow at the beginning because I couldn't see myself using it. But then I discovered how multi purpose this shadow is. It could be used as an eyeliner or lipgloss if you mix it with water or vaseline. I am not sure how that works yet, but I'm definitely very curious to try!
i-Envy by Kiss Lashes

This is the only thing I was really really excited and grateful for because my lashes are done for and I really needed new ones. Also, I needed a new eye lash glue because my old one had dried out because I forgot to put the cap on... Oops!

Starlooks Lipsgloss Sample

I hate lipglosses, so I'm glad that I only got a teeny sample of this. I just don't like the sticky feeling on my lips. But the pink is a really nice natural color.

The veredict of this month's Ipsy bag is...
Ehh Okay
I received around $18 worth of products for my $10. So it was not that impressive this month. And I also received products that I do not like. So I'm not really happy.

Sincerely,
Mayu Girl

I loved the color of the lipstick and how smoothly it can be applied. It is not a really pigment, which perfect for those people who don't like bold lips.
pacifica, nail, polish, vegan, healthy, ipsy This nail polish is the bomb. It dries pretty quickly and it doesn't smell like nail polish usually smell like. And the color is gorgeous. In love!

Overall I LOVE this month's Ipsy bag. I couldn't have been more satisfied with what I got. Everything is good quality and goes beautifully with my skin. The price that this bag would have cost me is around $50. I can't beleive how much I got with only $10. I truly recommend you to try this monthly subscription because you will not regret it!

So overall, the bag I received for the month of August was pretty good. It has the value of around 30 dlls, compared to the $10 I had to pay. I say it was totally worth the try, and I think that you should definitely give it a try. Besides, if you don't like it, you can cancel your subscription, or 'pause' it so that you don't have to get it each month.
